What makes CarmelBarre different from the rest?

CarmelBarre is the only TRUE Barre studio in the area - offering, not only, amazing Barre classes, but MANY different modalities of fitness from Bounce to MamaFit and MORE! We have highly-trained, experienced instructors. Combined we have 80+ YEARS of teaching experience!

We are locally grown and locally operated. We are female run. No franchises here. No cookie cutter routines. We believe in an all-inclusive community for EVERYONE - where we move and workout to keep our bodies strong and healthy. We are competition and drama free. Because WE ROCK. Because we are DETERMINED. Because we REFUSE to let EXCUSES stand in the way of our HEALTH, WELLNESS and COMMUNITY. Because at CarmelBarre, working out is not considered a "chore" — a thing you check off your list and move along.

WE BELIEVE in a BIGGER picture of COMMUNITY, GROWTH and LEARNING. Because we are DONE with the lack of REAL CONNECTION, REAL COMMUNITY, REAL PEOPLE! Because we are an ALL-INCLUSIVE, JUDGEMENT-FREE community and a STRESS-FREE environment. Because our classes are designed for a deeper UNDERSTANDING of your MIND, BODY, FITNESS and HEALTH.

What if I haven't worked out in a while? Can I modify the moves in class?

Modification are ENCOURAGED at CarmelBarre. We want you to workout as to reap the most benefits from each class. We will suggest modifications along the way. Newer to fitness? Recovering from an injury? Modify and as fitness levels increases you can continue to tweak your workout so it grows with you. We want you to have the most effective, best workout for you - only you. We are all different and different days require different modification.

What are CarmelBarre's Policies?

In an effort to keep things humming along and the vibe in the studio feeling positive, nurturing and healing we are implementing a few studio policies to help you get more out of your workout.

Sign up ahead online. Please reserve your space in class ahead of time. Classes can fill up quickly as space is limited and we want to ensure everyone has a space. Download the CarmelBarre app, which will make it very simple to sign up on your phone. Don’t have time to sign up online? No problem! Please call or text, 831-238-9766 or email the dates you plan to attend class and we’ll do our best to get you in.

Arrive on time. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in, set up your spot, unwind and be prepared for class. For your safety, arrivals later than 5-minutes of start time will not be permitted into class. Doors will be locked while class is in session to ensure that every client and every class gets the space needed. Doors will be unlocked with enough time for you to settle in, ask questions and be prepared for class.

Keep the studio space a “quiet zone” - while we don’t want to discourage all talking, we ask you keep chatter to a minimum once inside the studio space. Personal discussions, gossip, feedback, weekend plans, etc. should be discussed after class ends. Take the time BEFORE class begins to clear your mind, unwind, set your intention and be as prepared as possible for class start. Of course, we love our community and want conversation! Chatter may be done in the retail space while a class is NOT in session (or go grab a coffee downstairs)!

A Safe and Clean Space. Please help keep our studio clean and free from germs! Remove shoes BEFORE entering studio space and place in the cubbies. Help us by wiping down your area after and props after class. Notify us if you aren’t feeling well and stay home – we will remove you from class without a penalty.

Before class, let us know of any injuries or limitations you might need modifications for during class. We are here to help you stay safe while working out!

Stay for the entirety of class - If you need to leave before class ends, please let your instructor know before class begins. If you have to leave class early, be mindful of other class participants, quietly exit BEFORE final stretch.

In between classes remove self from space - if you are taking more than one class in a row, please vacate the studio space between classes so we can clean up and get situated for the next class.

Always, remove shoes before entering studio space - one of our policies - NO SHOES!

Silence mobile phones and leave in your cubby - if you have an urgent matter that requires your phone, please let your instructor know - we are happy to hold it by us during class.

Gum. Please do not chew gum during class. We encourage deep, full breaths while working hard and think you will breathe easier without it.

Cancel. Cancel a minimum of 12 hours before class to avoid a late fee (see our full cancel policy below). This is very important to open up spots for others wanting to take class and so your instructor can properly organize their class.

What do I need for class?

Grippy socks. Required for Barre classes to keep from sliding around and to maintain your balance during class. You can purchase a pair at the studio

Supplies. Please bring a mat, water and sweat towel with you to class. Feel free to bring your own props as well (weights, ball, band). Supplies can be purchased in the studio if you need. Mats can be rented for $3.

What to wear. We do a lot of curling, tucking, bending and kneeling during class – please comfortable workout pants, avoid shorts to keep your knees cushioned and happy. Wear grip socks to cushion your feet and layers so you can adjust your temperature throughout class.

I'll bring my own supplies, what do you recommend?

Due to COVID and maintaining the safety and wellness of all who enter the studio. We ask you bring your own equipment with you to class. You can purchase all the items at our studio. We will loan items as needed, but prefer you bring your own.

  • Mat
  • Playground Ball
  • Loop resistance band
  • Light weights
  • Bala Bangles (ankle/wrist weights)

Does Barre really work?

Yes, yes, yes! Since opening our doors three years ago we have heard about amazing results from our clients – from less aches and pains, more flexibility, changes in muscle appearance and more!

Who are the instructors?

Meet our amazing team here!

What is the cancellation policy?

Please pre-register for classes to save your spot (as space is limited). In respect to others attending class or on a waiting list, please make cancellations 12 hours prior to class start time to avoid a fee ($20 charge for unlimited members, class deduction for class package holders). If it is an emergency and you cannot make it to class, please notify us as soon as you can via phone call or text, 831.238.9766.

What if I have feedback?

Feedback or comments relating to the studio - please email Harmony or Arianne at info@carmelbarre.com with anything you want to discuss. We are here for you and want your valuable feedback - just not during class!
